MY REVIEW

Review: Another erotic day in the lives of the Quidell brothers and their lovely mates. Thomas and Sammie from the book Thomas's Muse are back for another installment. What Kris Austen Radcliffe excels at in her writing is breathing life and souls into her characters so that they are living, breathing, flesh and blood people and not just words on a page.  Her books are more character driven than plot driven, giving them a more literary feel. This book is no exception. The Quidell brothers are genuinely good guys and not the romance world's typical bad boy jerks. Their family is close and they honestly care for each other. Some of this story has a sad and emotional tone to it. A lot of the interaction between the main characters is poignant and sometimes dark and brooding. Tom is an artist and adulting and corporate art selling out is getting him down. His angsty wrestling with his demons shuts Sammie out. Tom is emotional and Sammie is cerebral. These aren't cookie cutter Harlequin romance characters but people with real problems. Life isn't easy, life isn't fair, we all know that. Relaxation and acceptance of life's issues are hard for everyone. Tom, like most artists has a darkness within him and Sammie just hangs on tight and refuses to let go while she tries to fix the problem. An interesting, turbulent and emotional read with added toe curling eroticism. 4 stars.
